Leonarda emigrated to America with her older sister Rosaria in 1909. She lived with her sister and her sisters' husband, their cousin Leonardo "Ned" Digati, until she married Antonio in 1911. "Narda" as she was known, was a loving mother to two daughters Josephine (Florenzano) and Mary(Recupero) and was a delighted grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 6 in her lifetime. She loved to cook and celebrate with her family and enjoyed laughing and having a good time whenever friends gathered at her home. She worked until retirement at the Kaiser Aluminum factory and enjoyed daily walks to the market even in her 90's. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Bristol, RI and a lifetime member of the OLMC Holy Rosary Society.
Friends and family miss her hearty laugh, her hard hugs and her amazing ricotta cheesecake.
