Wayne was born in Tift County, the son of Roy P. Dillard and Helen Goodman Dillard. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Joye Dean, who died in 1988 and his mother in law, Lessie Heard. He was a farmer, retired from UPS and the owner of Dillard Construction company.
