Mrs. Emily Louise Dillard Carden, age 85, of Rome, passed away Sunday November 24, 2013 in a Rome Medical Center.

Mrs. Carden was born December 13, 1927, in Gordon County a daughter of the late John William Dillard, and Cora Mae Bagley Dillard. Mrs. Carden was a long time resident of the Riverside Community and a member of Riverside Baptist Church, and the Naomi Sunday School Class, she was retired from Galey-Lord after 57 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Olen Carden, brothers, Gene, Clinton, Sam, and Herman Dillard, sisters, Aileen Pendley, Lillian Crump, Eddie Bell Jones, Ann Sticher, and Lenora Brock.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Janice and Allen Pinson, Rome; grandchildren, Matt Pinson, and Lacey Pinson, both of Rome; sisters, Kathleen Conaway, Plainville; Johnnie Lanham, Rome; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday November 26, 2013 at Riverside Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery. The family will receive from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour on Tuesday at Riverside Baptist Church, 48 Ash St. Rome, Ga. 30161.

Memorials may be made to Riverside Baptist Church, 48 Ash Street, Rome, Ga. 30161, or Model High School Dance and Drama Department, 3252 Calhoun Rd. Rome, Ga. 30161 or the family will accept flowers.

Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the church by 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Matt Pinson, Pat Pendley, Roe Holbert, Harry Harwell, David Brock, Randy Brock, Church Prevost, Banks Crump, Steve Dillard, Terry Pelfrey, Joey Pelfrey, Kieth Pelfrey, Vance Moore, Jimmy Dillard, Kerry Caldwell, and Ben Prevost.

Honorary Pallbearers will include the Naomi Sunday School Class.
