Mrs. Elizabeth Dir, wife of Jacob Dir, three miles and a half South on the Lexington Rd.,died Dec. 11, at 5:30 o'clock after a few days illness. On Tuesday she had a stroke of apoplexy. She leaves her husband and three sons, John and Frank of this city, and William who lives in the country. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She was a good and highly respected neighbor and on Nov.18th passed the 50th year of wedded life. Funeral Friday at 12:30 o'clock from the home, the Rev. S.P. Long officiating. She reached the age of 70 years. Interment will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
