Funeral services for Bert W. Dir, 74, were held recently at the Linn funeral home in Stuart. Nephews servicing as casketbearers were Harold and Floyd Moffitt, Arthur, Mervin and Clarence Newbury and James Swim. Interment was in the Fontanelle cemetery. Mr. Dir was a rural mail carrier for 34 years. He retired in 1944.
He is survived by his wife and two children Alberta Ellis, Black Point, Calif., and Loyal Dir, Glendale, Calif.; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three brother, Lewis of Adrian, Mo.; Elmer of Los Angeles and Frank.
