Mary Agnes "Mae" Dolan was born in Maytown May 12, 1878, the third child of Michael James Dolan and Catherine O'Rourke Dolan. Soon after her birth the family moved to Ohio, Bureau County, Illinois, where Mae lived most of the rest of her life. She married Francis Jeffery Burke in Ohio on Nov. 29, 1906. The couple had two children: an infant son who died shortly after birth and a daughter Patricia. Frank ran a drug store in Ohio and eventually took over the Dolan Insurance Agency created by his father-in-law. The 1940 census gives Mae's occupation as investigator for the state department of labor. She remained in Ohio after Frank died in 1958. Mae eventually entered a nursing home in Wedron, LaSalle County, Illinois where she died in Jan. 1975.
