Gina R. Abbott, celebrated life from June 15, 1929 in Mandan, North Dakota to June 6, 2002. Bakersfield has been her home for the past 62 years. Services will be held Wednesday, June 12 at 9 a.m. at Mish Funeral Home, 120 Minner Ave., with graveside services at Greenlawn Cemetery on River Blvd immediately following.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed this life to be with our Lord. Gina is survived by her husband of 52 years Howard Abbott; daughters, Cheryl Peoples, Sharon Angello, and Linda Minton; six grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and preceding her in death a daughter, Rhonda Gay; and grandson Eric Peoples.

Gina worked for the Kern County Sheriff Department and retired after 17 years. Her foremost passion in life was her husband Howard. She also had very strong family values in which she raised her family and their children.

Gardening, frequent trips to the casino, cruising the High Seas, and sharing an occasional late night bag of popcorn with her Chinese Pug Max were other ways she enjoyed life.

The family would like to give special thanks to her close friends for all their love and support through the years and to San Joaquin Hospital staff for their special care.
