HARTFORD CITY - Grace Opal Anderson, 92, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Blackford County on October 9, 1921 to the late Jesse E. Dollar and the late Gladys O. (Brown) Dollar.
Grace graduated from Jackson Center High School in 1938. She spent most of her life in Blackford, Wells and Jay County.
She married Robert "Bob" James Anderson on June 28, 1974 in Park United Brethren Church in Bluffton. He precedes her death on October 26, 1993.
Grace retired from 3M Company in 1977 after twenty years of service.
She will be sadly missed by her sons, Steve (wife, Pamela) Ray of Portland, Lanny (wife, Janice) Ray of Warren; daughter, Sharon (husband, Don) Schisler of Plant City, Florida; Joan (husband, Monte) Scwell of Hartford City; Carol Sue Stevens of Hartford City; step-sons, James Anderson of Glendale, CA; Michael (wife, Mary) Anderson of Bluffton; step-daughter, Diane (husband, Robert) Averatt of Fayetteville, N.C.; thirteen grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and many step-great-grandchildren.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jerry Ray; brothers, Harold and Paul Dollar and sisters, Orpha McDermitt and Ruby Johnson.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City, IN 47348 with Chaplain Jeff Luttrell officiating.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
