Irene Dockter, 82, Streeter, ND died Wednesday December 20, 2006 at her home south of Streeter, ND.
Irene Donat was born April 17, 1924 at Streeter, ND, the daughter of John Donat and Lydia (Grenz) Donat. She attended the local school and graduated from Streeter High School in 1943.
She and Arthur J. Dockter were married November 12, 1944 in Streeter, ND. They made their home on the family farm home 6 miles south of Streeter.
She was a member of the St. Lukes Lutheran Church and the Women's ELCA, she served on several boards, such as South Central Library where she received the 1992 North Dakota Trustee Citation Award. She has been a Tax-aid for 24 years for the I.R.S, She served on the State Board of ND Cancer Society in the Logan County Social Service Board. She has served on the church council, taught Sunday school. She was also a national Weather Observer for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur, Wishek, ND, 1 son, Clydell (Mary) Dockter, Streeter, ND, 2 grandsons, Shane (Tina) Dockter, Bismarck, ND, Brandon Dockter, Streeter, ND, 1 great granddaughter, Demy, and 1 sister, Sadie Dockter, Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 brother.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday December 27, 2006 at the St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Streeter, ND, with Rev. Chris Hogstad, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.
Visitation 9:00 9:00 Tuesday @ the funeral home in Gackle.
