Jannie Ree Burson passed away on Sunday 20 Oct 2013 in her home in Ridgecrest, CA at the age of 87. Jannie was born 24 Sep 1926 to Baskin and Lela Douglas in El Dorado, AR.
Jannie was a long time resident of Ridgecrest. Jannie married her late husband William "Bill" Burson on 29 Mar 1946 and were married for 66 years. When they married they lived in Jonesboro, LA. They moved to Ridgecrest in 1948 when her husband got a civil service job at China Lake Ordnance Test Station (NOTS).
Jannie was a stay at home Mom raising four children and doing day care in her home.
Jannie loved animals and had many dogs during her lifetime. She loved gardening especially her roses. She loved travel to places like Santa Barbara, CA, Laughlin, NV and Bishop, CA especially during Mule Days. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jannie was loved by many and will dearly be missed by all that knew her.
Jannie is survived by her four children, Son David Burson and wife Alison of Ridgecrest, Daughters Rita Read and husband David of Ridgecrest, Wanda Gregarek of Ridgecrest and Shirley Stair of Lake Isabella, CA. Six grand children Sheila and husband Rick McLeod, David Stair, Brian Gregarek, Alisha and husband DJ Jenkins, Amber and husband Eddie Holliday and Nicholas Burson. Five great grandchildren Alexus and Audra McLeod, Piper Jenkins, Alden Holliday and Lilly Stair.
Preceded in death by three brothers D. E. Douglas, Wallace L. Douglas and Morris Douglas.
