Mary L. Barnett, age 91, of Cantrall, passed away on Friday April 4, 2014 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield.
She was born on November 21, 1922 in rural Mason County, the daughter of John and Grace Doyle. Mary married Fred Barnett on December 13, 1940.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Fred, in 2009 and four brothers, Paul, Bill, Dick and Johnny.
She is survived by a daughter, Waneta McKemie; a son, Terry (Sharon) Barnett; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Rose Bubert.
She was an active member of the Sangamon County Homemakers Extension for many years. Mary loved dancing with her husband. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, golfing, and especially spending time with her family.
