Died of consumption at the family residence on W.Wood street, at 4:30 am on Sunday, March 6,1887, after an illness of several months.
Mrs.David Bellamy the deceased was a native of Kentucky, but she removed to Illinois early in life and for many years was a resident of Decatur.
She was the mother of seven children,five of whom survive her. Three reside in Blue Mound township, one is the wife of Rev.D.L.McBride, of Virden and one,Miss Emma Bellamy, resides with her father at the residence on Wood street.
The deceased was a member of the Baptist church and was a consistent christian woman. She accepted Christ as her savior and her simple christian faith was her solace and comfort in the hour of her death.
