Rev. Monsignor Bruce A. Dreier
At rest in God's care August 10, 2009. Monsignor Dreier was born on his father's birthday; August 3, 1949. He was the devoted son of the late James and Patricia Dreier. Loving brother, Cherished uncle.
Pastor of Saint Robert's Catholic Church, San Bruno and former Pastor of Church of the Epiphany, San Francisco. Monsignor Dreier was ordained May 13, 1978 by Archbishop Quinn. He served as associate pastor of Saint Elizabeth's Church. Monsignor Dreier was Chaplain of Sacred Heart and Cathedral High Schools in San Francisco. He was appointed as Director of Vocations and Seminarians for the Archdiocese and then served as Secretary to the Priest Personnel Board and was Director of Continuing Education for Priests. He returned to parish ministry and served at St. Cecilia's Church before returning to St. Elizabeth. In 1992 he was appointed Pastor of Church of the Epiphany and in 2004 began his service at St. Robert's Church in San Bruno. He was named a Prelate of Honor by Pope John Paul II on April 8, 2000. In addition Monsignor Dreier was a member of several boards in the Archdiocese including the Council of Priests, Archdiocesan Finance Council, treasurer of the Capital Assets Support Corporation and the Archbishop's Stewardship Committee. He also served as Chaplain of the San Francisco Fire Department, San Bruno Police Department and the Central Council of the Italian Catholic Federation. Monsignor Dreier was an avid San Francisco Giants' Fan and with his parishioners he raised funds through Centerplate, the concessionaire at AT&T and Candlestick Parks.

Friends may visit Monday August 17, 2009 at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 1380 Crystal Springs Rd., San Bruno. A Vigil Service will begin at St. Robert's at 7:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday August 18 at
St. Mary's Cathedral 1111 Gough St. (& Geary Blvd.). A reception immediately following Mass will be held at St. Robert's Church. Committal services will be private. Online condolences may be offered at www.vmpandco.com. Valente Marini Perata & Co. 415-333-0161
