After an illness of sixteen hours of apoplexy, Mrs. Sarah Andes, wife of Mr. Noah Andes, [died] at her home, 4 miles west of Timberville, Va., on May 13, 1898, at 11 o'clock a. m., in the 70th year of her age. She was a Miss Driver, and her first husband was Mr. Benjamin Hinegardner, by whom she had one son, born after his father's death, who is married and now lives in Hardy county, W. Va.

In 1857, she married Mr. Noah Andes, and to them were born three children—all living. One, Martha, is married to Mr. John Garber, living near New Market; a son, Jacob, married Miss Martha Miller, and lives near Timberville, and the other son, Mr. John K. Andes, nnmarried, lives with his father. Her only brother, Mr. Emanuel Driver, lives near Arkton, Va.

Mrs. Andes was a member of the German Baptist church, and was buried May 14, at 10 o'clock in the morning, at Mt. Olivet graveyard, on the home place, Elder Daniel Hays conducting the funeral, which was very largely attended. Fully 150 persons took dinner at the house after the services. Mrs A. was an excellent woman.
