Anna Zacher Passes Away
Woman of 91 dies Wednesday Night; Lived in County for Many Years
Mrs. Anna Zachar, a worthy old settler of Johnson county, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Anna
Valashek, 627 Iowa Avenue, last night at 8:55 o'clock of ailments consequent upon old age.
The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock from the family residence with Mr. Faul A.
Korab as the speaker. Interment will be at Oakland cemetery.
Mrs. Zachar was 91 years of age. Having been born in Bohemia in 1822. She came to America in 1877
and lived in Johnson county 47 years, having spent the last 33 years in Iowa City. She was a pioneer
resident of Solon.
Surviving are her son John, of Solon, and daughter Mrs. Anna Valashek of Iowa City. She was a good
woman and a large circle of old time friends speak highly of her excellent character.
