Marguerite Pansy (Dubel) Adamson was born July 23, 1920 in Springfield, MO and passed away at age 88, Tuesday, May 5, 2009 in Springfield. Marguerite was the first born of her parents, John and Middie Dubel.
Marguerite is survived by her son, Jack Willcut of Springfield, and his wife, Diana; granddaughters, Cheryl and husband, Mick, Anna and husband John, Betsy and husband, Rob, Emily Grace; great-granddaughter, Kirsten and great-grandson, Collin and step grandchildren, Jesse and Chelsey.
She takes with her fond memories of growing up in early Springfield. Marguerite was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1937. In her twenties she moved to Kansas City where she attended business school then was hired by Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company by Mr. Upjohn himself. Marguerite worked for Upjohn for 30 years before retiring. Marguerite loved all creatures great and small and especially caring for her dogs. She had a rich full life filled with doing the things she loved. Marguerite enjoyed being with family and friends, sewing, traveling, entertaining, cooking and eating healthy foods, music, flower gardening and bowling.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two younger sisters, Juniata and Irene and infant brother, John Jr. Marguerite is also preceded in death by her late husband and best friend, Ross Adamson of 45 years of marriage. In her later years she returned to Springfield to live near her son Jack and family. Marguerite will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 8, 2009 from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M in the chapel, with a celebration of life following at 2:30 P.M. in the Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home Chapel at Rivermonte, 4500 S. Lone Pine, Springfield, MO. Her final resting place will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. on Sat., May 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M.
