BOWERS -- Mary C. Ducker was born April 22, 1839, at Middletown, Ohio; died at Dale, Oklahoma, July 18, 1914; aged 75 years, two months and 26 days.
She was married to Theodore Bowers on December 22, 1860, at Antrim, Ohio. Nine children were born to this union. Her husband, and infant son and one daughter, Mrs. Sadie Baskins, have preceded her to the other world. She leaves three daughters; Mrs. Lola Bunting of St. John, Kansas, Mrs. Ollie Black of Lawton, Okla., and Mrs. Dora Linn of Dale, Okla., and four sons: Otto and Gled Bowers of Dale, Okla.; John Bowers of Lawton, Okla. and Edd. Bowers of Wichita, Kansas, to mourn the loss if a beloved mother.
Mrs. Bowers was a member of the Christian church at Mulhall.
The funeral services were conducted by Elder L. J. Anthis at the Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. His theme was the Resurrection. The scriptural reading I Cor. 15, Text:St. John 11:25: "Jesus said, I am the resurrection and life." At the conclusion of the service, the body was born to Roselawn cemetery for interment. All her children except Mrs. Bunting and Edd. Bowers, were present at the burial.
Mrs. Bowers was for many years a resident of Mulhall. She was well known and loved by a large circle of friends. After the death of her daughter here, Mrs. Sadie Baskins, she went to live with other relatives in Kansas, returning to Oklahoma recently. She passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dora Linn, living at Dale, Okla.
