Asheville - Shelby Jean Ducker Burris, 74, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Burris was the daughter of the late Burgan Millard and Viola K. Ducker, and was the wife of the late Charles Albert Burris. She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Hilda Moseley and Annette Burrell.
Surviving are her daughter, Paula Michele Burris of Littleton, CO; son, William Dean Burris of Asheville; grandson, Richard Burgan Marsh of Littleton; and sisters: Wilma Ross and husband Jim of Spokane, WA, Martha Wherrett and husband Cork of Asheville, and Linda Wilson and husband Otis of Nebo and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with the Rev. Otis Wilson. Burial will follow in Snelson Cemetery.
