WILLIAMSBURG - Chester Lee Duckworth, 93, of Williamsburg, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016. He worked in Mechanical Operations and Maintenance for Colonial Williamsburg. Chester was a Deacon Emeriti at Grace Baptist Church. He also served our country during WWII as a U.S. Marine Corporal. He was a sharp shooter on Guadalcanal. Chester enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, woodworking and crafts.

He is predeceased by his father, Stamey A. Duckworth; mother, Stella A. Duckworth; sister, Dorothy D. Henderson. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josephine Lee Duckworth; son, James A. Duckworth, Sr. (Melissa); daughter, Martha Jo Fritz (Daniel "Dan"); grandchildren, Rachel R. DeGuzman, Rebecca N. Gwyer, Ruth D. Hoffman, James A. Duckworth, Jr., and Christina M. Duckworth; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM; where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
