Evelyn Fristoe Maddox Duckworth, 95, of The Southerlands in Front Royal, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. Carlysle Crank. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

Mrs. Duckworth was born February 6, 1913 in Bentonville, VA daughter of the late Aubrey M. and Clarinda Morrison Fristoe. After her retirement from Safeway Food Store, she dedicated much of her time helping a wide range of those in need. Due to her generous nature, this help was given in many forms.

Surviving are a brother Charles R. Fristoe; one sister Ruth Austin; one sister-in-law Thelma Fristoe; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers John (Leonard) Fristoe and Forest Fristoe, and by her first husband Edwin Maddox and second husband Jeff Duckworth.
