Dorothy was born on July 3, 1930, on the family farm near Staplehurst, NE to Bernhard and Wilhelmine (Scheuman) Duer. She worked part time for Pioneer Seed Co, was a former co-owner of the Sports Tavern and worked at Jans Bar & Grill. She worked at the Seward County Fair in the Horticulture Department for 36 years, and worked at Walker Manufacturing. Dorothy passed away December 25, 2010, in Lincoln, NE at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 22 days.
