Wife of Osage businessman dies following illness

OSAGE, IOWA — Mrs. Edward Davidson, age 61, died Thursday evening at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. She had been hospitalized intermittently during the last year. Funeral arrangements are pending at the Champion Funeral Home.

Born in November, 1898, as Genevieve Duer, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Duer of Emmetsburg. She was a graduate of Emmetsburg High School and Iowa State Teachers College, and she taught in the elementary school at Ringsted before her marriage in 1920.

After living in Bancroft and Woden, Mr. and Mrs. Davidson came to Osage in 1926. He is the owner and manager of Davidson Gas and Electric Co. here. Mrs Davidson was a member of First Methodist Church and Bethany Chapter, Eastern Star.

Surviving are her husband two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Beneke, Orange, Texas; Mrs Jack Sheldon, San Diego, California; son, Robert, Cresco; five grandchildren, four brothers and sisters, Hans and Carl Duer, Mrs. Marie Jacobson and Mrs Mae Jacobson, all of Ringsted.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Merrill Martin.
