BUCHANAN - Died, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. LaFayette Smith, 1027 South 7th Street, at 1:45 Sunday morning, Dec. 2, of old age, Mrs. BARBARA BUCHANAN aged 83 years.

The deceased was born in Kentucky in March 1812, and came with her parents to Illinois in the spring of 1820. She had been a resident of Sangamon county almost seventy five years, and had resided in Springfield 48 years. In 1832 she was married to Reuban Buchanan, who died in 1861. In 1850 she united with the First Baptist church of this city. One child, Mrs. LaFayette Smith, survives her. Mrs. Buchanan was one of the oldest settlers of Sangamon county and always proud of the organization known as the "Snow Birds," of which she was an honored member, and was well informed as regards the early history of this county.

Funeral from residence Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock. Friends desiring to view the remains may call this morning or afternoon. (Barbara Miller Buchanan - Daughter of Solomon Miller and Nancy Antle Miller)

I think her parents were Solomon Miller # 8476610 and Nancy Antle #8476611.
See the obituary of her sister from 1895: "Mrs. Duncan was the second member of a family of ten children remarkable for longevity. Her brothers and sisters were: Mrs. Barbara Buchanan, Mrs. Malinda Hoag, Mrs. Sarah Lynch, Mrs. Docia Clark, Mrs. Nancy McMurphy, Jason, John, Allen and G. Washington Miller. Of these Mrs. Buchanan, Mrs. Lynch, Mrs. Hoag and Jason Miller are dead." http://sangamon.illinoisgenweb.org/obit.htm

Barbara Duncan was born BEFORE Nancy Antle married Solomon Miller on 13 Aug 1813.
In the book History of the early Settlers of Sangamon County, Ill .... when Solomon's family is listed it states he and Nancy had 4 Children born in Kentucky and 5 born in Illinois (totalling children) however when it lists all of the children ... there are 10.
When you look up Reuben Buchanan's name in the book ... it clearly states he married to Barbara Duncan and she was the STEP-Daughter to Solomon Miller
