Aged 71 Years, Wife of Alexander

Died, at 11 o'clock Thursday night, July 7, 1904, at her home in Cotton Hill, Mrs. Kate Duncan, aged 69 years. The funeral will take place Sunday at the residence in Cotton Hill and from the Church of the Immaculate Conception in this city. The interment will be made in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Duncan is survived by her husband, Alexander Duncan, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Brunk of Beamington and Mrs. David Murphy of Cotton Hill; also one sister, Miss Mary Quinn of this city.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Ireland and came to this country when but a child, residing in Philadelphia, Pa., about five years. From there she came to Springfield where she married Alexander Duncan, living here about seven years, then moving to Cotton Hill, where she has lived for the past forty-two years.

Mrs. Duncan was a devout member of the Catholic church all her life. She as a kind, indulgent mother and a charitable neighbor and her death will be keenly felt by all that knew her. IL State Journal, Springfield, IL 7-9-1904
