Funeral services for Irwin Luther Duncan, sr., 1625 East Edwards street, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Elinger & Kunz funeral home. Rev. Vernon L. Shontz will officiate and burial will be in Roselawn cemetery.
Mr. Duncan, a resident of Springfield for more than thirty-five years and a native of Waverly, died Friday morning at his residence following a brief illness. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Duncan came to Springfield from Hastings, Neb., and for many years was in the furniture business here. He retired several years ago.
He was a past noble grand of the Waverly Odd Fellows lodge.
His wife, the former Frances Margaret Hoey, operates the Duncan Nursing home at the residence. The couple was married in 1906 at the Central Baptist church here by Rev. Euclid B. Rogers.
Mr. Duncan is survived by his wife; a son, Irwin Luther Duncan, jr., Philadelphia, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. Emily F. Wonsavage, city; sister, Mrs. Clara Wheelborg, Waverly; and three grandchildren.
