Virginia "Gini". Beloved wife of the late Charles deRohan. Loving mother of David (Sara) Osborn and Peter (Monika) Osborn. Devoted grandmother of Lucy, Ellie, Eric, and Stefanie Osborn. Cherished daughter of the late James and Pauline Durrell. Adored sister of the late James Durrell, Jr. Passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the age of 78 surrounded by her loving family.
Gini is a fifth generation Cincinnatian growing up in East Walnut Hills and living her adult life in Hyde Park. She attended Miss Doherty School for Girls graduating in 1956 and continued her education at Miami University where she was a Theta. Gini was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Cincinnati and had a life time commitment for volunteering and helping others. Her true passion in life was her family.
Gini loved her summer cottage in Northern Michigan and being in nature. She was an avid gardener, swimmer, tennis player, and antique collector.
A celebration of Gini's life will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Chapel at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45232. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to The Beachwood Home, 2140 Pogue Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45208.
