Martin Dusik was the son of Martin Dusik (1826 – 1891) and Maria Sikora (1823 – 1873). He was married three times. His first marriage was on January 27, 1886, to Susanna Simko/Garag (1861-1903), daughter of Jan Simko/Garaj and Maria Janco. Martin and Susanna had the following children Mariya 1887 – 1887, Zuzana (Mrs. Michael Boratko) 1888 – 1950, Jan(Son) 1894 – 1894, Mariya (Mrs. Michael Hudak) 1896 – 1937, Paul/Pavol Dusik 1899 – 1968. Susanna died August 19, 1903, at age 42. At the time of her death, there were three living children, Pavol 4, Mariya 7, and Suzanna 15. The first Mariya and Jan died as infants.

His third marriage was to Mária Kováè on June 15, 1910. This was Maria’s second marriage. Her previous husband, Michael Garag, died in 1901 at age 39. Together they had four children with three living to adulthood. When she married Martin Dusik her children were ages 16 through 23. Martin's daughter to Zuzana Skokan was only a few months old. Therefore, at the time of his marriage to Maria Kovak, Martin’s children were infant Anna Dusikova, Pavol 11, Mariyah 14, and Suzanna 22. Maria died at age 57 on March 23, 1923.
