Chico Enterprise-Record, Monday, April 24, 1950, p. 5 "Eads Funeral Is Held Here Today. Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home this afternoon for Mrs. Laura Alice Eads, resident of this community for the past 65 years who died Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Eads was born in Napa, Calif., January 29, 1862. Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Edwin Sauber of Chico and Mrs. Josephine Munjar of San Jose. There is one brother: George Roney of Chico, several nieces and nephews and one grandchild. Rev. William Gould, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Lillian Cook, organist, played the chapel organ. Interment in the Chico cemetery and casket-bearers included: Kenneth Clayton, Jack Roney, Walter Whitaker, Winford Lee, Lem Coon and Leo Clayton."
