Ruth E. Carlson, 86, of Cashmere, WA, passed away suddenly at her home on Tuesday, January 8, 2013. Ruth was born in Wenatchee, WA to Jacob and Marion Earhart on September 28, 1926. She moved with her family to Redmond, WA as a young girl and attended school there, where she met the love of her life, Lloyd. She and Lloyd had a love affair that expanded over 60 years. They were married on February 21, 1943. They devoted their lives to their five children and the Lord. Ruth packed apples for many years at Skookum, however, most of her time was as a homemaker and bookkeeper for Carlson's Floor Covering. She was baptized as a Brethren at The Sunnyslope Church, where she was a faithful member. She served as Sunday School Superintendant, teacher, Deacon and various other capacities.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; her parents, Jacob and Marion; a sister, Mary; and a brother, George. She is survived by her five children, John Carlson of Fort Collins, CO, Mary (Harold) Clark of Cashmere, Barbara (Don) Douglass of Nampa, ID, Pamela McNulty and partner, Gary Cheever of Cashmere and Curtis (Wendy) Carlson of Wenatchee; sister-in-law, Lillian Lathrum of Redmond, WA; 15 grandchildren, Tahnee Carlson, Todd Carlson, Rick Kettering, Marcus Kettering, Rebecca Johnston, Renee Ameci, Brandon Douglass, Ryan Douglass, Jeremy Douglass, Natasha Moubray, Heather Froelich, Kendra Shockley, Paige Carlson, Colby Carlson and Chelsee Carlson; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at The Sunnyslope Church, 3330 School Street. The Services will conclude at the church. A Private Interment will be held at the Wenatchee City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Sunnyslope Church or The Cashmere Food Bank. Viewing will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of The Valley, East Wenatchee.
