Lois Marie Bluml, age 82, of rural Glidden passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids after a short battle with lung cancer.


A celebration of life and visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 29th at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. There will be a private family burial on Monday, September 30th at the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden.


Born on February 18, 1931 at Ladysmith, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of Walter and Iva (Hobbs) Earhart. She grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School in 1948.


She was married to Norman "Jack" Bluml on September 22, 1953 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Carroll. The couple made their home south of Glidden where they raised their family and Lois was active in the farming operation. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Merle Hay Post, L and L Club and the Saturday Night Card Club. Lois enjoyed reading, playing cards, visiting with her friends, traveling and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.


Lois is survived by two sons: Bill Bluml and his special friend Ellisa Wenck of Boxholm, Iowa, and Andy Bluml and his wife Jody of Hudsonville, Michigan; four grandchildren: Megan and Quinn Bluml of Glidden and Jon Bluml and his fiancé Emily Kamphuis of Hudsonville, Michigan, Joelle Bluml of Hudsonville, Michigan; a brother Walter Earhart and his wife Colleen of LaCrosse, Wisconsin; three sisters-in-law: Luella Ries of Carroll, Elaine Schwaller of Templeton, and Mary Jane Bluml of Minneapolis; two brothers-in-law: Felix Bluml and his wife Kay of Kiowa, Texas, Harold Bluml and his wife Phyllis of Wichita, Kansas and Leonard Bluml and his wife Donna of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


She was preceded in death by her husband Jack on September 8, 2003, her Mother, Iva, in 1965 and her Father, Walter, in 1993..
