Mrs. Mary Earhart Almarode, 54, 716 Sherwood Ave., died at Waynesboro Community Hospital yesterday at 6:20 a.m.
Born in Rockbridge County, June 21, 1901, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eva Brown Earhart. She was a member of Basic Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dorsey H. Almarode; a daughter, Miss Janet Marie Almarode, Waynesboro; four brothers, William and Frank Earhart, Clarksburg, W. Va.; Lewis Earhart, Greenville; and Lacy Earhart, Spottswood; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Wanger, Spring Hill; Mrs. Nancy Earhart, Spottswood, Mrs. Susie McFaddin, Natural Bridge; Mrs. Amelia Swink, Rockville, Md.; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at Basic Methodist Church, Tuesday at 2 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Frank L. Baker, with burial in Riverview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Bush, Charles Lafferty, Ervin Woods, Johnny Martin, Paul Harman and Robert Frew.
Honorary bearers will be Dr. A. M. McLaughlin, Dr. J. Treacy O'Hanlan, George Herman, James Combs, Mrs. Dora Craig, Mrs. Evelyn Harris, Mrs. Martha Walker, Mrs. Dora Woods, Mrs. O. B. Turner, Miss Mary Hughson, and nieces and nephews.
