"Mrs. Arbuckle was born Feb. 27, 1902, at the former lumbering town of Klamathon in Siskiyou County to Alvah and Bertha Earle. Her early childhood was spent in the Antioch and Hayward area. After her father's death in 1914, the family moved to Chico where she married Ensign G. Arbuckle. He died in 1931.
"She was a member of the old First Baptist Church on Salem Street, the cornerstone of which was laid by her grandfather, Warren Earle.
"Survivors include three sons, Glenn of Durham and Earle and Daniel, both of Chico; two daughters, Helen Wertz of Santa Rosa and Juanita Hodges of Selma; a brother, Alvah Earle of Chico; two sisters, Carita Hannen of Medford, Ore., and Lois Knibb of Sacramento; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
"Officiating at the services will be the Rev. Charles Barnes, associate pastor of the First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Hall-Van Hook Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Butte-Glenn Heart Association or the Diabetes Foundation in care of the funeral chapel."
