Betty Queen Brooks, age 81, of 6051 Locust Hill Road, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at her home.

A daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth Williams Earle and William Hosea Earle and wife of the late Grady S. Brooks, Sr., she was a member of the Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities: Deaconess, President of the Gospel Choir, and The Missionary and Pastor's Aide. She was a charter member of the Mountain Grove Chapter Order of the Eastern Star-Chapter #215, where she was a Past Matron, and she was a loving homemaker.

She is survived by seven children, Mildred (Calvin) Ware, Minister Mirrian (Rev. Bob) Renrick, Rev. Grady (Carolyn) Brooks, Jr., Willie J. Brooks, Lourie K. Brooks, Kimberly (Fred) Bostic, and Landrum (Melode') Brooks; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Mountain Grove Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. J.D. McGowens officiating. Burial will be in the Grand View Memorial Garden, Travelers Rest. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

The family is at the home.
