Edwin Edison, age 82, of Lewes, DE. passed away on Monday, September 02, 2013, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was born in Joplin, MO. On February 18. 1931, son of the late Joseph Earl Edison and Grace Lauriat Edison. Mr. Edison was raised in Kansas City, MO, the youngest of 3 children, and he graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City in 1948. In his early years, he worked for TWA and the Rock Island railroad, and then spent many years working with his father as Manufacturer's Reps in sporting goods. He retired in 1995 as a school bus driver for the Montgomery County, MD school system. Mr. Edison loved to tinker and fix things and you could usually find him with various tools in his shirt pocket so that he would be ready at a moment's notice to fix something. He served his country with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict where he was a radar operator based in Japan. He was a member of Post 28, American Legion in Millsboro, DE. Playing bridge, pinochle, and hearts and watching old movies were his favorite pastimes and he enjoyed being around children. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole, and four nephews, Steve, David, Allen, and Galen Guhr, of Kansas City, MO and Garden City, KS. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Entombment will be private at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, DE. Please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Children's Beach House, 1800 Bay Avenue, Lewes, DE 19958.
