It appears that the headstone was incorrect when it was made pertaining to the date of birth. It should read 1849 and not 1873. The latter was the year that she was married to G. W. Edwards.

The source of the correct information is found on page 196 of the book "History of the Early Settlers of Sangamon County, Illinois", Edwin A. Wilson & Co, 1876, and it reads:
"...His son JOHN, born Sept. 22, 1820, in Kentucky, was married Feb. 28, 1847, in Sangamon county, to Mary J. Burns. They had thirteen children. Artamecia, born Feb. 5, 1849, was married April 15, 1873, to G. W. Edwards, and lives at Buffalo Hart Grove."

Edwards—At the residence of her sister, Mrs. James Elliott of Dawson, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1906, Mrs. G. W. Edward, aged 57 years and 3 months.

The deceased is survived by her mother, Mrs. M. J. Cass, and one daughter and three sons.

The funeral will take place this morning at 10 o'clock from the Methodist church in Dawson. The interment will be made in Buffalo Hart cemetery.
