Donna "Granny" Banning, 72, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 10:12 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, Illinois, with one hour viewing prior to service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mason Cemetery, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Sarah Bush Hospice, Mason Civic Center. Pagel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donna was born on July 18, 1941 in Effingham County, Illinois the daughter of Donald Leo and Reba C. (Hodge) Edwards. She married Paul Eugene Banning in Effingham, Illinois on Oct. 5, 1962. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sons, Ricky Eugene (wife Dawn) Banning of Edgewood, Illinois; and Russell Paul (companion Katie) Banning of Mason, Illinois; daughter, Reba Jean (companion Jeff Trier) Higgs of St. Elmo, Illinois; brother, Tommy (wife Linda) Edwards of Effingham, Illinois; sister, June Renee (husband Joe) Solomon of Effingham, Illinois; and 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son Rex Allen Banning.
