ABBOTT, Dora, born 26-06-1892, Greene County, Illinois, died 20-02-1941, buried 00-02-1941. Jersey Democrat News, Feb. 21, 1941. Mrs. Dora Abbott, wife of Howard Abbot, died Thursday Morning, Feb 20 at 8:40 o'clock at her home on Pleasant Street in Jerseyville. She had been ill since Monday. Mrs. Abbott was the daughter of the late William Edwards and Mrs. Ellen Richert and was born June 26, 1892 in Kane. She was aged 48 years, 7 months and 24 days. Surviving Mrs. Abbott in addition to her husband are ten children, Mrs. Pauline Tucker and Mrs. Emiline Crotchett of Kane, William Abbott of Jerseyville, Mrs. George Luke of Benton MS., Miss Drusilla Abbott, Mrs. Emmett Scoggins, Misses Ruby, Retha and Peggy Abbott of Jerseyville and James Abbott of Edwardsville. She also leaves her mother, Mrs. Ellen Richert of Bernie, MO., two brothers, Clarence Richert of Bernie, Mo., and Vernon Richert of Granite City; five sisters, Mrs. Ruby Glass and Miss Gussie Richert of Bernie, Mo., Mrs. Mabel Marler and Mrs. Viola Tinkler of Nameoki, and Mrs. Emma Seago of Fieldon, and ten Grandchildren.
