She was born July 19, 1927 in Grace, Idaho the daughter of Robert Calvert and Sarah Jane Perry Egbert.
Ellen married Everett Adkins on June 29, 1945. He preceded her in death on June 28, 1983.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ellen and her daughter Sue participated in making many quilts for hospitalized children throughout the state.
She loved quilting, porcelain doll making, gardening, flower arranging, music and reading.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Val (Sherry) Adkins, Clinton; Everett Dee (Maria) Adkins, Yuma, AZ; daughter, Ellen Sue Thompson, Clinton; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and sister, Esther Morrell, Edmonds, WA.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Christine Williams, grandson, Todd Thompson, granddaughter, Shelly Edmunds, three brothers and seven sisters.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 3 p.m. at the Clearfield City Cemetery, 1050 South State Street.
