Funeral services were conducted last Friday afternoon by Rev. C. W. Aanestad from Zion Lutheran Church over the remains of Mrs. Anna Eken whose death was chronicled in our last issue. The church was filled with relatives and friends who came to pay there last respects to the departed. The deceased was born in Saul Prestegjeld, Nedre, Telmarken, Norway. On March 12th, 1867, and immigrated with her parents to America in 1886, making her home at Dalton, Grant County, Minnesota. * Until in 1888 when she came to Twin Valley. She was married Sept 21, 1889 to Andrew Eken and made her home here since that time. She was the mother of ten children, five of whom proceeded her in death. Mrs. Eken had been in poor heath for years and passed away on Jan. 24th, at Saint Johns Hospital at Fargo at the age of 69 years, 10 Months and 12 Days. The immediate cause of death was heart failure. The deceased is survived by her husband, five children, Bernard, Minnie Leonard, Hannah and Constance , two grand children, four sisters, Mrs. B. J. Smith of Kennedy, Minn., Mrs. Olsen of Duluth, Mrs. Axel Johnson of Ashby, Mrs. Tillie Hagen of Moorhead, six brothers, Rev. T. A. Hagen of Halma, Minn., Torsten Hagen of Elbow Lake, Ole Hagen of Fargo and Louis Hagen of Kennedy. Among those from out of town who where in attendance were Rev. T. A. Hagen of Halma, Mrs. B. J. Smith of Kennedy, Mrs. Ingeborg Olson of Duluth, Mrs. Tillie Hagen of Moorhead, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hagen of Fargo, Louis Hagen of Kennedy, Tosten Hagen of Elbow Lake, Evnl Johnson of Ashby.
