Norma I. Eifert, age 93, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home. She was born on December 11, 1915, in Lincoln, MO, daughter of John & Alma (Holtzen) Eken. She grew up in Lincoln.

On April 18, 1936, she was united in marriage to Emil Eifert and they made their home in rural North Lincoln, where she helped Emil on the farm. She also worked for years as a cook for the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, until she retired.

Norma was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was baptized on December 26, 1915 and confirmed on April 7, 1929. She was a member of Ladies Aid at the church and was a Sunday school teacher for several years. In addition, Norma enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing cards.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Emil on September 22, 1963 and son Donald on July 21, 2008, brothers, Leo and Johnny Eken.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Rhonda Monnig and her husband Rick, of Salisbury, MO, Mark Eifert, of Lincoln and Gary Eifert and his wife Becky, of Cole Camp, great-grandchildren; Allison, Kristin and Megan Monnig and Grant and Gracyn Eifert and her daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Eifert, of Lincoln.

Burial will follow at the Immanuel Cemetery.
