Services were held Saturday, Jan. 2 at Second Reformed Church for Adrian Elcock who, having suffered a heart attack on Monday afternoon, died that same day at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls.

He attained the age of 85 years, one month and three days.

Officiating during the service was the Rev. Dr. Harlan Hayunga.

Pallbearers were Mark Schempp, Doug Elcock, Daryl Elcock, Justin Schempp, Ryan Elcock, Morris Elcock, Jason Elcock, Scott Elcock, and Eric Elcock.

Interment was in the Lennox Cemetery with Military Rites performed by Brethorst-Burma American Legion Post #174, Lennox.

Adrian Ezra Elcock was born on a farm south of Lennox, SD on Nov. 24, 1924, the son of Claude and Sadie (Knock) Elcock. He was born, raised and lived his entire life on the family farm south of Lennox. He attended Sunnyside rural
school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II until his honorable discharge. Adrian was a farmer. He was an active and faithful member of Second Reformed Church where he had served as a church officer, Sunday school secretary and usher. He was a 50 year member of the Brethorst-Burma
American Legion Post in Lennox. He enjoyed coffee time with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Sadie, January 21, 1935, Claude, January 1, 1993 and stepmother, Grace, January 23, 1973; brothers: Lendell, January 24, 1992, Myron, August 10, 1998 and Sidney, March 15, 2004.

Grateful for having shared his life are his nephews and niece: Morris (Lynne) Elcock, Freeman, Doug (Lois) Elcock, Crooks, Daryl (Jan) Elcock, Tea and Marilyn (Mark) Schempp, Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Mayona (Dal) Bitterman, Sioux
Falls, and many great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
