She is survived by sister Dorothy Gordon and brothers Claude and Chuck Ingersoll; sons Kenneth (Elizabeth) and Douglas (Verna) Elliott; daughters Florence (Richard) Aydelotte and Cheryl (Michael) Sunderlin; daughter-in-law Ellene Elliott; fourteen of seventeen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren.
Raised in the Nazarene Church her whole life she was a faithful member in the Tulare, Bellflower, Pomona and Watsonville Churches. Served as board member, missionary president, sunday school teacher but her first love was singing for the church. She sang in the choir and was soloist for church services, funerals and weddings. Everyone loved her beautiful angelic voice, and when she sang great harmony in a group. She also played the piano even though she never had a lesson.
At a young age, during the depression years, Hazel traveled from Greeley, Colorado with her parents and Uncle Bob's family picking fruit in many states for support, until they arrived in Lindsey, California. She met Gordon Elliott and married November 27, 1935. All five children were born at home and the family later moved to Bellflower, California. After Gordon's passing in 1979 she moved to Watsonville, California with Louise to care for their mother until her passing. On December 21, 1988 Hazel and Bernell Blum were married. After his passing in 1997 Hazel moved to Tulare, Palm Desert, Upland and Riverside.
Hazel was a dedicated wife and homemaker. She loved to cook and always made extra if others arrived unexpectedly. She was especially known for her delicious cakes and pies. She went out of her way to make everyone feel loved and welcomed. After dinner the entertainment for the evening was playing Rook until the wee hours of the morning. All the family and everyone who knew Hazel will miss her greatly
