Fernanna Baird of Clio, formerly of Sun City West, Arizona, age 86, died Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Cranberry Park Assisted Living. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 520 Butler Street, Clio, Pastor Eric Cloeter officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation at the Swartz Funeral Home. Visitation 1 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the church. Mrs. Baird was born in Flint, Michigan on October 14, 1925, daughter of the late John and Viola (Schwalm) Faber.On November 8, 1941 she married George H. Baird in Flint. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Mrs. Baird was a former member of Clio Country Club. She loved golfing, gardening, playing Bridge, making jewelry and doing all kinds of crafts. She was a member of the Altar Guild at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Sun City West, Arizona. Mrs. Baird retired from GM. Surviving are daughter, Dianna and husband John Zofko; grandchildren, Bryan and Terry Barnaby, Renee and husband Bob McCulloch, Heather and husband Kevin Wiles, John III and wife Debby Zofko; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Helen Baird and Luella Smith; many nieces and nephews.
