ROME >> Judy M. Bielby, 53, of 5557 Rome New London Road died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013 in the emergency room of Rome Memorial Hospital.
Judy was born on Nov. 22, 1960 in Rome the daughter of Casmer and Joyce Luchsinger Faber. A lifelong resident of the area she was a graduate of VVS High School class of 1978.
She married Jeffrey A. Bielby on May 16, 1986 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oneida.
Judy attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Verona. She was a member of the Theta Rho Girls Club, the North Bay Rebakah's Lodge. She had been an active volunteer and longtime member of the VVS Pop Warner Football Association and had been actively involved in the CNY Civil War Reenactment groups.
Judy was very well known for the beautifully decorated Christmas wreaths which she donated to local hospitals.
Surviving are her husband, Jeff; her mother and step-father, Joyce Turk Prest and her husband Robert of Blossvale; one son, Casmer Bielby of Rome; one granddaughter, Trinity A. Bielby; her brothers and sisters, David Faber of Volcano, Hawaii, Nancy Noors of Munnsville, Linda Hertz of Green Cove, Fla., James (Linda) Faber of Westdale, John Faber of Boonville, Gerald Faber of Boonville and Janet Egnew of Rome; her father- and mother-in-law, Irving and Elaine Bielby of Oneida, and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her father and her sister, Kathy LeClaire on April 4, 2011.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 from the Ironside Funeral Home, Inc. Oneida with Pastor Katie Yahns officiating. Spring interment will be made in Boonville Cemetery. Friends are invited and may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 342 Main St., Oneida. Memorial contributions may be made to Lupus Foundation of America Inc. 5858 E. Molloy Road Room 173, Syracuse, N.Y. 13211.
