Evelyn Buchanan (nee Faulds), 81, of Monroe Township, N.J., formerly of Union, N.J., entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the funeral service at the Walter J. Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark, N.J., on Monday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m. Final disposition will be private. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. Mrs. Buchanan was born in Scotland to the late Matthew and Agnes (Kerr) Faulds. She lived in Union before moving to Monroe Township 15 years ago. While in Monroe, she was a member of the Rossmoor Community Church and active in their Women's Guild. She was also a member of the Library Committee, the Croquet Club and the Bocce Ball Team. Mrs. Buchanan was a secretary for Quaker Oats of Cranford, N.J., for over 26 years, retiring in 1991. Mrs. Buchanan was the beloved wife of the late Charles (Stan) Buchanan, and the devoted mother of Lesley Allen and her husband, Dennis, of Rhode Island, and Joyce Buchanan of Elizabeth, N.J. She was the cherished grandmother of Kathryn and Michael Flanagan of Rhode Island, Susan and Michael Pawlowski of Rahway, N.J., and Lindsay Thelen of Elizabeth, and great-grandmother of Katelyn Flanagan and Samantha Pawlowski. She was the dearest sister of Elizabeth Blair of Brick, N.J., Matthew Faulds of Nevada, and the late Rita MacKerracher. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
