RUTH VELMA BIRD, 94, of Corona, California, died May 16, 2014. She was born November 14, 1919 in Los Angeles, CA, daughter of Charles and Viola Field. Ruth, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother loved her family, her church, and served them faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderful homemaker and loved serving others. Ruth was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served in a variety of callings and assignments; and where she spent many hours visiting and serving others; she had an abiding faith in God. Ruth patterned her life after our Savior's teachings, "And blessed are all the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." She was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Charles Mylar Bird. The family would like to express their greatest love and gratitude to Roselle Guizona for 5 years of care, love, and support, and for bringing daily joy to their mother. Viewing will be held on Friday, 5/23 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3600 Norconian Dr., Norco, CA 92860 at 10:00 am and the service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Rose Hills Memorial Park Whittier, CA. Published in Press-Enterprise on May 22, 2014.
