Wanda was born in Haverhill, Mass. on April 22, 1933, the daughter of the late Edmund and May (Spackman) Fielding. She met her husband, Frank in 1949, while in high school and they were married in 1955, while he was in the Navy. For the next 34 years, they moved from station to station in the Navy while she pursued her wildlife management career.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Route 165, Preston, meeting directly at the church at 10 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Wanfran Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Inc.. 75 Old Jewett City Rd., Preston, CT 06365.
