DOLBEC- Sandra Fitzgerald Dolbec, 73, died January 24, 2011. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio and graduated from The Ohio State University where she was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She moved to Pasadena in the early1960's where she was a longtime elementary school teacher in the Pasadena School System, including Longfellow and Jefferson schools. She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church and was an active member of the Pasadena Athletic Club and her book club. She was an avid bridge player, had a fondness for sailing, and loved the performing arts. Sandra will be remembered for her kind, thoughtful ways and her perennially positive outlook on life. She will be dearly missed. She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Lillian Fitzgerald. She is survived by one son Michael Dolbec, his wife Cathy, and 2 grandchildren Kendall and Ross who reside in Orinda, CA. She is also survived by her brother James Fitzgerald, his wife Melissa and their children James "Seamus" Fitzgerald, Jr., Elizabeth (James) Matan, Patrick (Lisa) Fitzgerald, Molly (Chris) Nagel, and Meagan Fitzgerald, who reside in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC. Her niece, Caitlyn Fitzgerald, predeceased her. She had 6 great nieces and nephews, James Jr., Joseph, Michael, and Caitlyn Matan, and Emma and William Nagel. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Jules Stein Eye Institute - Development Office, 100 Stein Plaza, Room 1-124 Los Angeles, CA 90095-7000 and to Mayfield High School 500 Bellefontaine Street Pasadena, CA 91105. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 5th ,11am at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 2640 East Orange Grove Boulevard, Pasadena. Cabot & Sons, Pasadena.
