Mrs. John T. Flanagan, the former Clara Renner of Alexandria, passed away at Kadlac hospital in Richland, Wash., November 29, after a short illness.
Mrs. Flanagan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Renner of Alexandria, was born here January 15, 1888. She attended the Alexandria schools and St. Benedict's College, and also received private music instruction in Minneapolis.
She was married to John T. Flanagan January 13, 1915, and was a resident of Alexandria with intervals at Blytheville, Arkansas and Minneapolis until August, 1944, when she moved to Richland, Wash., where Mr. Flanagan is engaged in construction work for the war department.
Besides Mr. Flanagan, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Renner and her brother, the Very Reverend William A. Renner, the pastor of St. Mary's Catholic church of Alexandria, she is survived by five children: William, Batavia, N.Y.; John, Jr., Philadelphia; James, Iowa Falls, Iowa; Patricia, Richland, Wash.; and Robert, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Two brothers, Joseph A. Renner and Michael Renner, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Flanagan was organist at St. Mary's church for many years. She was a member and officer of St. Rose Sodality and the St. Mary's Guild, and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society.
Solemn Reuiem Mass was said December 5 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Alexandria. A. C. Schneiderhan, Robert Chan, George Buscher, Lyle Martin, Edward Klavin and Edward Fluegel were pallbearers.
