William Earle "Bill" Flynn, age 88, of Burnsville, born May 11, 1916, died April 1, 2005 at his daughter's home in Eden Prairie with family. Bill was a retired Naval Commander who served his country in WWII as a naval aviator. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret "Peggy" Flynn, sister, Mildred Hoskins and brother, Col. Norman Flynn. Survived by son, Thomas, "Tom: Flynn of Savage; daughters, Elizabeath "Liz" Flynn of Northfield, Nancy Flynn of Warsaw, Virginia and Florence "Tootie" Condon of Eden Prairie; grandchildren, Shawna Handschud, William Condon, Paul Condon II, Kelly Condon; son-in-law, Jerry Condon; longtime family friend, Barbara Steffen of Savage; niece, Gretchen; many nephews including Bill Hoskins. Bill loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was active in the Tailhookers Association and enjoyed the many reunions with his fellow naval aviators for the Squadron VF-51. Bill also enjoyed spending time with the "Old Goats" (State of Minnesota Emergency Services Retirees). Visitation White Funeral Home, 12804 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville on Wednesday, April 6, 11am-1pm. Funeral services will immediately follow. Interment will be at Acacia Park Cemetery. Mendota Heights. Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
